Innovation isn’t a project. It’s not something that is ever finished. And for every challenge you solve with one innovation, other issues and challenges will arise. That’s normal and to be expected, and that’s why a continuous innovation program is essential in maintaining and extending competitive advantage. But the process of innovation will often be uncomfortable, and there can be significant barriers in a business that limit the focus and the success of an innovation program.

All this means is that different businesses will be at different stages of maturity on their innovation journey. Some organisations will need help in defining or scoping the problems that they need to solve. Others will require help integrating solutions into their day-to-day business. Still others will need to think about how they will encourage their customers, suppliers, supporters and partners to adopt their innovative solutions, in order to drive those competitive advantages.

So getting to grips with where you are on your innovation journey is essential. Because when you think about your innovation maturity and capability, you can start to address those barriers to innovation, and find ways to stand out in a crowded marketplace.

Understanding how a business can and should pursue innovation is at the heart of what we do at Disruptor’s Handbook. But every now and then, we realise we need to take a look around and see how businesses feel they are doing on their innovation journeys. Wouldn’t it be great to be able to benchmark your organisation’s efforts against others?

That’s why we are running the Disruptor’s Handbook Innovation Pulse survey. We would like businesses of any size to take part, wherever you do business, and we will share the results in a report that goes out to the community of participants. We’ll also share highlights of this report more broadly, and we’ll provide some advice on how to overcome the issues that can get in the way of an effective innovation program.

We invite you you take part in the survey now. It should take no more than 10 minutes of your time, you can participate on any device you have, and by taking part you will be able to benchmark your own innovation journey against similar businesses. Plus you’ll get a copy of the report when it’s publishing to help drive decision making around innovation in your organisation.

Help us to help you innovate. Take part now!
